Mechanical Engineer | Robotics & Automation

About Me

I am a Mechanical Integration Engineer with a strong interest in robotics, industrial automation, and product-oriented mechanical design. My primary focus is on integrating mechanical systems with robots, PLC-based control systems, sensors, and manufacturing equipment to deliver reliable, scalable, and production-ready automation solutions.

I work at the intersection of mechanical design, automation hardware, and control systems, ensuring that individual components function together as a cohesive, efficient, and maintainable system in real-world manufacturing environments.

Integration Engineering Focus

  • End-to-end mechanical integration for automated systems

  • Coordinating mechanical, robotic, and control interfaces

  • Ensuring manufacturability, serviceability, and automation readiness

  • Translating design intent into robust production systems

  • Supporting commissioning, debugging, and continuous improvement

Robotics & Automation Integration

  • Industrial robot integration

    • Welding, assembly, handling, and material transfer

  • End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT)

    • Mechanical design and functional integration

  • Robotic workcell layout

    • Reach studies

    • Access and maintenance planning

  • BIW (Body-in-White) fixture integration

    • Welding and assembly fixture concepts

  • Sensor integration

    • Proximity, presence, and process sensors

  • Mechanical decisions aligned with:

    • Cycle time optimization

    • Accuracy and repeatability

    • Robot accessibility

    • Long-term system stability

Automation-Oriented Design Philosophy

As an integration engineer, I focus on how mechanical design impacts system-level performance, including:

  • Robot accuracy and path consistency

  • Ease of commissioning and debugging

  • Reduction of manual adjustments

  • Maintainability and service access

  • Scalability for future upgrades

I believe strong integration comes from designing with the full system in mind, not isolated components.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

  • Working closely with:

    • Robotics programmers

    • PLC and controls engineers

    • Manufacturing and production teams

  • Translating automation requirements into mechanical solutions

  • Supporting troubleshooting during trials and ramp-up

  • Learning from shop-floor feedback to improve designs

Engineering Software & Digital Tools

Alongside mechanical integration, I am building supporting software systems to enhance engineering workflows:

  • Spring Boot for backend development

  • Internal engineering dashboards

  • Automation data visualization concepts

  • Personal technical blogging platforms

  • Tools that connect engineering data with decision-making

Long-Term Vision

My long-term goal is to grow into a well-rounded Integration Engineer capable of contributing across the entire automation lifecycle—from concept design and mechanical integration to commissioning, optimization, and digital enablement of manufacturing systems.

What Drives Me

  • Solving real-world integration challenges

  • Understanding how mechanical design influences automation behavior

  • Building systems that are reliable on the shop floor—not just on CAD

  • Continuous learning across mechanics, robotics, controls, and software
